Purchased it from Vernon Dell (local dealer) Took three weeks to deliver as we had to wait for it to be built.
On to the infomation.
The EHSS transmission takes a bit to ge used to, as the clutch pedal needs to be gently used or you will be spinning all four wheels on most surfaces. But once you are using the transmission it is slick. Used it to brush hog a semi open wood with heavy ground growth and after nearly hitting a couple trees I caught on to its use, and was shuttling from forward to reverse nearly as automatically as on my departed tc24d.
Power I mean nice power at the pto. Would run my tc24 at almost overspeed to keep my 6 foot hog working well cutting these woods. used the bigger 9 footer of my neigbors and never pulled down the mower if I was careful about running over large numbers of saplings at once.
The 18la front bucket works great. I used it to load about 12 tons of sand and gravel so far and never balked yet at lifting full bucket loads even of wet sand.
Comfy seat, good leg room( I am 6' 7" tall) steers where you aim it.
Turns well

Need ballast box! only way I could load the truck was to leave the hog on the back so that the tractor would stay on all fours.
The PTO engagement is abrupt unless you are very very gentle in moving the handle throught its range.
When running the tractor at the 540 pto rpm it is LOUD. Before you make comments about 55 horses, I am taking that into consideration. I think that they may want to set these up with a top stack exhaust instead of the side exit exhaust.
As mentioned above the 'inching pedal' (clutch) is touchy and the tractor has enough power to weight ratio to spin if not careful.
Engaging fwd requires dead stop on fairly level ground or you have to pull the lever Very hard.

Congrats!!!! Did you have the tires filled? That would add alot of wieght. Sounds to me like your new machine has the power!! As for getting used to the clutch, I remember driving my buddies ford mustang gt for the first time! I owned a PINTO at the time. You can make that comparison for power. Now all it needs is a cab! with a retractable roof.

Not certain if I want to fill the tires use the tractor a good bit on/near lawns and mowed fields. Do not want too much weight all the time.

Swoboto, I like the way you posted after a few hours of use, the pros and cons of your machine with an open mind. All machines have cons. When you buy one you hope it is the one with the least I guess. The TC 55 is one mean looking machine and is on my what is the next tractor to buy list. The next machine will chip, mow, and twitch logs. Enjoy BIG blue!!! ....

Just want to say good luck with your tractor. They are excellent machines. As for filling the tires After selling about 20 of them so far most of them get filled. That tire has such a wide footprint you would hardly leave a rut unless you were in very soft ground. Even most of the large 150+hp farm tractors we sell get filled even with out a loader. If you look in your ops manual for the 18la you will see that the rated lift capacity is with filled tires or a combination of wheel weights and a rear weight box. With out those your lifting is very hampered. And as for the 4wd lever sticking try drifting the tractor very slowly to get the gears to turn and mesh together. That should get you going pretty nicely. ....

Contining observations on new New Holland.
10-45 hours
Still getting used to the abrupt PTO engagement, have now broken 2 shear bolts on my rear finishing mower.
Used it to clear a 4 acre scratch wood lot out, did great job with the FEL taking the trees out, and dragging the large trunks with drawbar. Thinking that I may have to get at least the rear tires loaded as traction when dragging wasn't so great.
Think it is my all time favorite tractor for brushhogging pastures though. The power to run the 9 foot hog with a light enough tractor to get into the softer areas with out getting buried are great. (reason not to get tires loaded)
Have to remember not to use the clutch pedal when shuttling in loose traction areas as you will get more tire spin that way than when you just let the ehss do its thing.
